All across Vermont bells will be rung for four minutes, including at our White Church above the Common, to honor the 75th anniversary of Norman Rockwell's paintings depicting the Four Freedoms, featured in The Saturday Evening Post. The characters in these iconic paintings were Vermonters !

These paintings were depicting the 4 Freedoms in the Atlantic Charter, issued in 1941 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill. They were used to sell war bonds, which helped the US and allies win the war.
