Bread and Puppet Theater will perform their latest show at the Goddard College Haybarn Theater, in Plainfield on Monday July 30th at 7:30 p.m. In this show Bread and Puppet, under the direction of the "insurrection preacher" (B&P director, Peter Schumann), appropriates the form of a Catholic funeral mass as a ritual bye bye to a rotten idea in our culture or politics that is badly in need of burial. The Mass also features the gates of hell and first-person testimonials by humanitarian aid workers on the US-Mexico border. Open to the public. Admission by donation. There is also an exhibition of Peter Schumann's giant woodcut banners on both floors of the Eliot Pratt Library of Goddard College. In the upstairs Art Gallery is a series of works, entitled Post-Apocalypse for the ¾ Empire, inspired by the Albrecht Dürer's woodcuts illustrating the apocalypse. Downstairs is an exhibition of banners for the Possibilitarian Uprising. Regular hours for the library are 9 – 4 pm, M-F. The library will be open till 9 pm on Monday, July 30th.
