The Hungry Heart

Past event
Feb 19, 2014, 7 to 9 PM

Please join us on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for a presentation of a new film on prescription drug addiction and recovery. “The Hungry Heart” is a powerful locally produced documentary about the profound challenges of addiction. The film explores this problem in a compassionate way, looking at the medical and social issues surrounding the misuse of prescription medications. It is especially powerful because everyone in the film is from St. Albans; very close to home. The film has been presented at the Flynn, and several high schools throughout the state. The GISU has worked hard to bring this film to Grand Isle School, and the screening is funded by the Grand Isle Sheriff’s Office. We are hopeful our Island families and community members will attend. It is important to emphasize this is not a film for children under high school age. We are looking forward to a thought provoking evening and are grateful to be able to collaborate together to help address this complicated issue that is affecting so many people.
