This special exhibit, on loan from Harlem Needle Arts features pieces by eight contemporary textile and multi-media artists. The works share and are defined by some element of thread construction, but are diverse in presentation, and include quilting, embroidery, mixed media, costume, and fiber fusion. Each work speaks to the artist's view of the African Diaspora and his or her own personal experience or interpretation of historical events. Whether you come to revel in the art, or to learn from the artists, we expect you will not be disappointed. The exhibit will be open from July 15th–October 28th.
On Sunday at 3 p.m. Michelle Bishop, exhibit curator, will give a talk titled "Disrupting Silence." Reception to follow. www.rokeby.org / 4334 Rte. 7, Ferrisburgh, VT
