What: Spend a morning with Salvation Farms, harvesting delicious summer crops at the Barber Farm in Jericho for donation to food shelves and meal sites.
The Barber Farm grows fruits and vegetables to feed hungry Vermonters. Growing this food is a lot of work, so Salvation Farms and other organizations step in to help with the harvesting and distribution.
The crops we harvest from the Barber Farm will be transported to the Vermont Commodity Program, Salvation Farm' surplus-crop food hub in Winooski. There, they will be sorted and packed for distribution to food shelves and meal sites serving those in our community with limited access to fresh, wholesome foods.
