The Marlboro Historical Society will be holding its Annual Meeting on Thursday, July 12th at 7:00 p.m. at the Town House, corner of South Road and Town Hill Road. After a short meeting, the featured speaker will be Tyler Resch, research librarian at the Bennington Museum, who has a special interest in Vermont history. Tyler's talk will focus on two contradictory histories of Vermont, those by Benjamin H. Hall and (no relation) Hiland Hall, the father of the Bennington Battle Monument. An American studies graduate of Amherst College, Tyler was for a dozen years the editor of the Bennington Banner. Among books he has written or edited are The Shires of Bennington, town histories of Dorset, Shaftsbury, and Glastenbury, and a history of the Rutland Herald. He has edited and produced a history of Bennington College, and also edits the semi-annual Walloomsack Review, a journal of historical articles published by the museum. It looks to be an interesting evening, and we hope you will join us.
