Armchair Travel Series - Encounter with Japan: An Adventure in Love with Susan Katz Saitoh: Susan’s mother Addie Katz – a 35-year-old housewife and mother of three – was living in a small village in MA when she won a life-changing trip to visit her pen pal Suzue in Kyoto, Japan. Susan’s book – co-written with her mother – weaves the story of Addie’s life, using strands of her mother’s own writings, fragments of Suzue’s letters, and snippets of writings by people whose lives Addie touched.
