Board Game Night at Johnson Public Library

Past event
Jul 10, 2018, 6:30 to 8:30 PM

Come join us at the Johnson Public Library for Board Game Night on Tuesday, July 3rd, at 6:30pm. Enjoy some of the interesting new board games that have shaken up the old standards in recent years. Last month we enjoyed Give Me The Brain, a silly and chaotic card game about zombies trying to finish their shift at the fast food restaurant of the damned (and the dangers of being stuck with the mop). Bring your own favorite or try out one of the games on offer. This month's options include:

*** FORBIDDEN DESERT *** As we all battle this 50-year heat event, it's always good to remember things could be worse.... like your airship crashing and stranding you in the lethal forbidden desert. The sun is merciless, the water is limited, the pieces of your airship are scattered, and to make matters worse, there's a deadly sandstorm to contend with! This co-operative puzzle game pits the players against the game, in a race to re-assemble the airship to make it out alive.

*** SPY ALLEY *** Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to secure your country's disguise, password, key, and codebook, and then make it back to your embassy in spy alley, *without* anyone learning your secret identity. A game of luck and deception in which anyone can be eliminated from the game if they don't cover their tracks carefully....

*** DOMINION *** Build and fine-tune your kingdom in this easy-to-learn deck-building game. Will you carefully engineer your cards to maximum efficiency? Will you hoard actions to burn through your hand every round? Or will you go on the attack and chip away at your opponents' score?

*** POWERGRID *** Germany needs juice! Power and connect the various cities of Germany to provide as many households as possible with the electricity they need to go about their daily lives. Upgrade from dirty coal to clean and efficient renewables, bid against your rivals for the best facilities, and corner your market to be the ultimate power-broker!
