FREE COMMUNITY CONCERT - Birds on a Wire
Sat July 7th, 7pm @ South Newfane Schoolhouse

Birds on a Wire have been singing together since 2008 shortly after Jenny and Greg migrated to Maine from Brattleboro and Jeanine flew in from Oklahoma. Since then they've flittered about playing traditional fiddle tunes, singing three-part harmony and laughing up a storm. Join us for a community concert with Birds on a Wire at the intimate South Newfane Schoolhouse. This free all-ages show is a part of the Schoolhouse Rocks series produced by local community members for local community members and anyone who appreciates great music. Donations are encouraged for the musicians. BYOB and a snack to share if you'd like!

Jeanine played banjo with a family bluegrass band for several years before joining BoW. Now her main strings are fiddle and guitar, but may also pick up the mandolin or sit at the piano. Jenny plays violin with BoW. She's taken it on musical flights halfway around the world and back. She also sits on a lower wire, the cello, when the birds need a bass. Most of all though, she loves singing in sweet harmony with other birds and other voices.Greg started out playing the banjo with friends in college under the moniker, Flying Fingers. They later became a traveling contradance band and Greg switched to the hammered dulcimer. Greg enjoys other wires as well, but he leaves the bows to his bandmates. Greg also sings and tell stories which is where all birds of a feather find their greatest musical pleasure. If we are lucky, Greg & Jenny's daughter Soleil might even sit in for a song or two.

The South Newfane Schoolhouse is located at 387 Dover Road at Auger Hole Road in the Village of South Newfane. For more information see: facebook.com/SouthNewfaneSchoolhouse/
