The Planning Commission will meet next on July 3rd at 7:00 pm in the Town Hall. The PC will hold a public hearing on a round of draft Land Use and Development (AKA Zoning) Regulations. Included in this round of updates are changes noted below::
Natural Resource Overlay (NRO) District: This is a revision to the current Natural Resources Overlay District that has been in the Land Use Regulations since 1998 and has seen little change since that time. More up-to-date and locally accurate data is now available. This process of amending the NRO began many months ago as the Planning and Conservation Commissions and have worked together on making changes and have held various public meetings. As result of the public process, the NRO has been revised in response to public comment. Please visit the PC part of Town web page to view more about the process and the proposed changes to the NRO.
Private Driveways: A maximum driveway grade change was made from 15% to 12% in 2017. The grade change should have been made to 10% to match the Underhill Jericho Fire Department requirement for driveways. The proposal is to make the change to 10%.
Trails/Pedestrian Facilities: The 2016 Town Plan included data from the 2015 Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. Goals regarding connectivity in the Town Plan include securing paths and sidewalks for bikes and pedestrians. The proposed addition to the Land Use Regulations will implement these goals of the Town Plan.
