The John G. McCullough Free Library in North Bennington is hosting this year's Shirley Jackson Day Celebration at The Left Bank (5 Bank Street, North Bennington) this Saturday, June 30th at 7:00PM. This year's celebration features readings by one of Jackson's daughters, members of the Shirley Jackson Award committee, and authors nominated for Shirley Jackson awards. An art exhibit inspired by Jackson's work is on display at The Left Bank. The Bennington Bookshop will have a selection of Jackson's work for sale. Refreshments will be available.
Shirley Jackson, a prolific and important American writer, was a longtime resident of North Bennington. She is best known for her short story "The Lottery", her novel "The Haunting of Hill House", and her memoirs.
This event is free and open to the public.
