Past event
Jun 30, 2018, 2 to 10 PM

NQID means "Not Quite Independence Day", a festival celebrated in Waterbury the weekend before the 4th of July. Signs and banners are up all around the Village where festivities will take place this year from 2:00 pm to 10:00pm. This is a community event organized and run by volunteers and a lot of effort has gone in toward "Bringing it Home" ( back into the Village ) after being displaced by hurricane Irene. In the Rusty Parker Park (RPP), beginning at 2:00 pm the Rotary Club's booth will open all day selling cold beer and smoked turkey legs and many other food vendors will also be there surrounding the park and Waterbury's fine restaurants and pubs will be open for everyone to enjoy. On the grass area of the State Complex, a variety of fun activities will take place.

Don't forget, this year Waterbury's huge PARADE on Main Street will begin at 4:00 pm. Then, beginning at 5:30 pm, following the parade, bands will begin playing throughout the evening at the RPP. To cap off the NQID festival, the Waterbury Town's fireworks display will commence with plenty of parking and viewing for all behind the State Complex (follow the signs). There is no admission cost for this event. It is free. However, many volunteers are needed to make it happen each year and the event does have expenses to make it successful. So please, make your contribution to the Waterbury Rotary Club, PO Box 586, Waterbury, 05676 or if you can, drop some cash in the NQID donation cans and buckets.
