On Sunday July 8th the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum will hold its annual Challenge Race at the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum (LCMM) – 4472 Basin Harbor Rd. in Vergennes. The Challenge Race starts at LCMM and is a 3 mile triangular rowing/paddling race across the lake, along the palisades, and then back to the museum at North Harbor. The course covers some of the most beautiful scenery on Lake Champlain. The race is open to all types of human powered boats-bring your own kayaks, canoes paddleboats, sliding and fixed seat boats, paddle boards, row boats—whatever you can power yourself! This event has a $25.00 registration fee per person. Registration begins at 9:30 and the race begins at 11:00.
