Great Activities at Brookfield's Old Town Hall

Past event
Jun 24, 2018, 10 AM to 12 PM

Continuing through June, activities at Brookfield's Old Town Hall include a Strawberry Picnic with Kimball Library's youth librarian Courtney Bowen on Sunday June 24 at 10 AM. This event is most appropriate for 2-5 year olds, but older and younger siblings are welcome too. Courtney will offer a wealth of stories, crafts, music, and, yes, a strawberry picnic!

For the early risers, we're offering a Summer Boot Camp. The Monday sessions start June 25 and run through August 20. The Thursday sessions kick off on June 28 and continue through August 23. The one-hour classes begin at 7:30 AM. Emma Manion will lead participants through energizing exercises, easily adapted to all levels of fitness. Bring a few friends and kick off your week with some energy! The AM Boot Camp exercise series has been generously sponsored by The Clark Group, LLC and by Nancy McCall, and there is no cost for the classes, but donations are gladly accepted.

And, on Thursday, June 28 our first Film Fest night, features "The Castle". For this working-class family from Melbourne, Australia, their home is not so much a house as it is a shrine to themselves and their way of life. But now, they must move. And they're going to fight city hall to avoid it.

This film is about characters who have a rock-solid view of the universe and their place in it, and gaze out upon the world from the high vantage point of the home that is their castle. Our film fest this year is once again generously sponsored by Gibson Engineering.
