Hi neighbors - I'm excited to share that Ben & Jerry's has partnered with the Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture to showcase one of its ground-breaking exhibitions, CITY OF HOPE: Resurrection City & The 1968 Poor People's Campaign at our Waterbury Factory. We'll be unveiling the collaboration this weekend, and you're invited.
On Friday 6/22 from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM we'll reveal the poster collection, hear from the exhibit's curator Dr. Aaron Bryant, and learn from Dr. Bernard LaFayette, Chairman of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference and longtime civil rights activist who helped launch the 1968 Poor People's Campaign.
On Saturday 6/23 from 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM, we'll host a Community Day that begins with a talk from Dr. Bryant and a tour of the exhibit, followed by family-friendly arts and crafts activities that bring the Poor People's Campaign to life.
And of course, both Friday and Saturday will feature ice cream socials with FREE Ben & Jerry's. Hope I'll see you there!
