SYRIAN DINNER at Greensboro United Church of Christ (GUCC) in Greensboro to benefit Vermont Refugee Resettlement Project, on Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. The menu offers a succulent variety of foods including Mezze (appetizers/finger-foods) of Pickled Grapes, Labni (Condensed Yogurt Cheese), Fatit Hommos (Syrian "Nachos.") Main Dishes and Sides offer choices of Syrian-style Lentils and Noodles, Dawood Basha (Meatballs and Onions in Tomato Sauce), and Salatat Khodar (Green Salad with Lemon Dressing), and Bharat (Traditional Seasoning Mix). A wonderful selection for Hawlah (Dessert & Sweets includes Syrian-Style Apples (Apple Crisp with Coconut and Figs), Candied Hazelnuts, and Candied Sesame Seeds. Beverages include Syrian Coffee (Sweet, Decaffeinated) Syrian-Style Chai (Sweet, Decaffeinated) and Lemon-Limeade.
There will also be an opportunity to learn more about Syria and its people and the current refugee issues. All in all, it promises a delicious and informative evening. There is a suggested donation of $10 at the door. Please come and join us!
