Northfield is having its Inaugural Winter Carnival

Friday February 14, 2014
All day snow/ice sculpture viewing on common. Vote for your favorite in business’s around the common.
All day: view coloring contest from Northfield elementary school students in businesses around common. Visit and vote at O’Maddi’s Deli, Depot Square Pizzeria. Voting is from Feb. 15th –20th.
4pm: @ Norwich University campus Kreitzberg Arena women’s hockey vs. NEC
7pm: @ Norwich University campus Kreitzberg Arena men’s hockey vs. Babson

Saturday February 15, 2014
Snow sculptures - Teams must finish by noon. Come and judge your favorite. Stop by O’Maddi’s Deli and Depot Square Pizzeria and vote for your favorite. Voting will continue until Friday, Feb 20.
8:00 am- Sledding @ Northfield elementary school-bring your own sleds. Northfield snowmobile club will give you a ride back up the hill (with your parents’ permission).
8:00-11:00 am- Breakfast at the Senior Center. Donations accepted. Open now every Saturday!
8:00-11:00 am-Snowshoeing and cross country skiing @ Memorial Park. Bring your own equipment; however some may be available through the school for sign out.
10:00-11:00 am -Presentation of: “The Mitten” by Jan Brett @ Brown Public Library
11:00-12:00 -Make a pine cone bird feeder drop in and out @ Brown Public Library
12:00-1:00 pm - “Lets Make a Blizzard” paper snowflake making @ Brown Public Library
1:00-2:00 pm -Presentation of: “ The Mitten” with Jan Brett @Brown Public Library

10:00 am-3:00 pm-Ice skating @ Northfield fire station
1:00-3:00 pm -Chili Cook-off @ Northfield Senior Center. YOU BE THE JUDGE! Enjoy the heat of competition of local cooks. Please call Linda Thurston at 522–4305 if you would like to enter the cook-off.
1:00 pm - NU Women’s Basketball game @ Norwich Andrews Hall
1:00 pm - NU Women’s Hockey vs. Castleton @ Kreitzberg Arena
3:00 pm -NU Men’s Basketball game @ Norwich Andrews Hall4:00-NU Men’s hockey vs. UMass/Boston.
5:00 pm - Public meal at Northfield Senior Center. After the judging is over, join the winners and others for dinner.
6:00-9:00 pm - Rail Jam@ Norwich University Wise Campus Center. Public welcome
6:00 pm- Movie night @ Mary Corrigan Auditorium. All welcome
7:00 pm - Northfield HS Girls Hockey @ Kreitzberg Arena vs Middlebury HS
9:00 pm - Northfield HS Boys Hockey @ Kreitzberg Arena vs Woodstock HS
