The 49th Annual Colchester 4th of July Parade will be on WEDNESDAY, JULY 4, 2018!
The Colchester Parks & Recreation Department would like to notify residents that the annual parade will be on Blakely Road again this year. This is due to the continued road work in the Creek Farm/Route 2 & 7/Main Street area of Town. The parade will begin at the Colchester High School and proceed down Blakely Road to Lavigne Road. Please plan accordingly! Parking is available at numerous public lots in the area including the Colchester High School, Colchester Middle School, Malletts Bay School, and Town Offices. Blakely will be closed on the 4th from 11:00 - 12:30pm during the parade - no traffic will be allowed through until all parade participants have cleared the street; this includes Lakeshore Drive, Williams Road, and Malletts Bay Ave. Visitors are asked not to park on the Blakely Road shoulders during the morning hours of the parade.
Parade Registration Forms are still being accepted at the Parks & Recreation office. If you are interested in entering a vehicle, float, or organization in the parade, please complete a Parade Registration Form, which can be found on our website: http://colchestervt.gov/363/4th-of-July-Celebration Additional info will be sent to parade participants prior to the event with regard to staging at the High School and dismount zones on Lavigne Road.
All other 4th of July events will remain the same as in previous years, including the 5K Fun Run at Union Memorial School, lifeguards on duty at Bayside Beach (including SUP, kayak, pedal boat, and inflatable water park rentals), music, inflatables, and food concessions at Bayside Park, and a fireworks show over the Bayside Softball Field at dusk.
