Hey Neighbors!
The American Red Cross is hosting a local meeting at the Saint Johnsbury Welcome Center (51 Depot Street) this Tuesday, February 11th from 6:30pm-7:30pm. I will be present, along with some local volunteers to discuss with the community what it is that Disaster Services does here in Caledonia County. Red Cross volunteers respond to emergency calls at any time of the day to help their neighbors who have been affected by a natural disaster like a fire or flooding. We also provide assistance to first responders like fire fighters and EMS to help keep them hydrated and energized. Across the state volunteers responded to 179 emergencies last year. This number is increasing year to year. In the last month alone, volunteers responded to 35 incidents in 31 days across the state. Our volunteers are very dedicated, and we are looking for more people to join our team to help support our community. You don't need any prior experience in order to join, and we will provide any necessary trainings completely free.
Please come join us for some snacks and refreshments on Tuesday at 6:30pm at the St Johnsbury Welcome Center and consider joining our team as a volunteer. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at Natalie.Barrett@redcross.org.
Best,
Natalie
