The storm water culvert underneath Route 2 at the light, between the Harley Brown building and GreenSea, is failing and in need of immediate replacement. The town has hired J. Hutchins to do this work, and due to the complexity of excavating and replacing the culvert, the road must be closed for two days. The detour route will be around Cochran Road, similar to how it was last Summer (just that the road closure will be in a different location this time). Some pavement shimming in the area to correct recent settlement will also occur. We anticipate that by Sunday evening that the road will be back open and ride much smoother than it does now.
