The Panhandlers Steel Pan Band

Vermont's largest Caribbean Steel Pan Band, "The Panhandlers" will perform at the Waterbury Public Library on Tuesday, June 26th from 6-7 pm in the library's garden. Rain site will be the Municipal Building's Steele Room.

Vermont's Panhandlers showcase many different sets of pans from the Lead Tenors and Double Seconds, to the Triple Cello, and finally the four and six barrel Bass Drums. The groups boasts 12 members that hail from parts of New Hampshire, southern and central Vermont to the Canadian border. Home base is Sharon at the Seven Stars Art Center where they practice under the directorship of Jennifer Cohen of Rutland. The band has been in existence in various iterations for over 15 years, and play a mix of calypso, samba, reggae, pop and even rock and roll.

Come kick off the summer in the Waterbury Library's garden with Vermont's own steel band, The Panhandlers, put a smile on your face and a pep in your step!
