Once again we welcome the summer season to Morrisville with lots of events going on and we'd like you to join us in the festivities. On Thursday, June 7th MACC (Morristown Alliance for Culture and Commerce) will host a Community Revitalization Celebration from 4-7pm. The event will kick off at 10 Railroad Street along the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail with a view of the new fabulous downtown mural coming soon.
From there you can take the History and Art Walk (hART) guided tour or wander on your own along the new green sidewalk line which features twenty-three stops each with a plaque illustrating great architectural, historical, and art locations in the downtown. While you stroll through the community, check out the fabulous new historical street signs and the collection of locally painted Adirondack chairs adorning our sidewalks, all of which add public art and walkability to our village. MACC would like to extend a special thanks to the students at Peoples Academy, Bishop Marshall School's art teacher Juliet O'Neil, and a fabulous group of local citizens for painting this year's chairs.
The Morrisville Revitalization Celebration will also include the 1st Thursday Art Walk of the season with local artists showing their work at many local businesses, including Rock Art Brewery where you can purchase a pint while touring their art gallery. Stop in at the Noyes House Museum and pick up an Around Town scavenger hunt card by 5:00 pm and find the answers as you walk the village streets. The first person to bring the correctly completed card to River Arts will win a prize (a gift certificate to 10 Railroad St) and bragging rights! From 4:00- 4:45 pm make sure you check out the "Around Morristown" art show at Morrisville Post Office featuring work by Nan Carle Beauregard and Caroline McKinney. Beauregard's photographs are a sample of the 100 images she turned into business cards in support of local businesses and unique views around town. McKinney's watercolors are of scenes from last summer Wednesday Night Live. Their work is also on display at the Tegu Building. Don't forget to stop by the beer/wine and Jasper Hill Cheese tasting at MoCo, live music on Moog's Place patio, a pickleball demonstration in the municipal parking lot, and at 5:00 pm we will host a celebration of the new sculptural tree at Morristown Centennial Library.
We will end the evening with a community celebration at River Arts from 6-7 pm featuring an art show and sale by Mrs. Francis Hill. There will be messy art space for the kids and refreshments for the adults. Don't miss our fun filled celebration of our fabulous town!
