Mad River Fiber Arts & Mill in Waitsfield is pleased to host renowned fiber artist and instructor Amy King of Spunky Eclectic Fiber Studio for a three day spinning retreat at Lareau Farm Inn, July 8-10, 2018. We still have spots available. Please call or email the Mill to register by Friday, June 8th. Details below:

.**Sunday July 8: Arrival**
Check in at Lareau Farm Inn. Retreat begins across the street at Mad River Fiber Arts & Mill for a meet and greet and BBQ at 5:00pm. Trunk Show with Amy King.

**Monday July 9: Full Day Workshop: "Sock It To Me"**
Now is not the time to get cold feet-- we are diving into the art of sock yarn! Whether you are looking to master your technique or try it for the first time, this is the workshop for you. We will answer all your questions: Will it hold up? What materials do I use? How do I spin it so it is sturdy but not rope like? You'll walk out of the class making sock yarn like a pro.

**Tuesday July 10: Half Day Workshop: "All the Single...Yarns"**
Anyone who knows Amy knows she loves her single yarns. Thin, energized, worsted, bulky, fancy, even thick 'n thin! If you like them as much as she does and want to learn how to make singles that are not meant for plying, take this fun class! Amy will expertly guide you through every step from beginning to finishing off. If there is time at the end, you will also discover how to use the singles in garments and get excellent results.

**Student Requirements**
Spinning level is intermediate. You must have a good working knowledge of the wheel and be comfortable with basic spinning instructions. Please bring a wheel in good working order with 4 bobbins (5 is better). If you have a wheel that has extra whorls, bring them. It's also helpful to have a Niddy Noddy and a Lazy Kate. You must also be able to work with the yarn in knitting, crochet or weaving. Please bring an array of hooks, needles or a little sample loom so you can work with your product.
