Safe Solar viewing through telescopes using special filters by members of the Vermont Astronomical Society.
Join Suncommon and Us (Paul and Jan Walker) at our house at 53 Valley View Drive (Road), Middlebury to talk solar. We had Suncommon install panels on our house in December of 2017 and have been loving it! We had been thinking about getting solar panels some time. The whole process was easy and SunCommon helped make it affordable with financing that had no up front cost and minimal affect on our monthly budget. By March we were generating more electrical power than we were consuming.
As a "bonus" I (Paul), an amateur astronomer, will have telescopes available for safely viewing the source of this sustainable energy (weather permitting). I will also have a short video I took of the August 21, 2017 Total Eclipse of the Sun from near the center line in Crossville, TN.
SunCommon will be providing food and drinks, and Nora Woolf and Kevin Lehman from Suncommon will be there to answer any questions you might have about solar. I and a few of my astronomy friends will be there to help you view the Sun and answers any questions about the Sun and other astronomy related topics.
And no, you don't have to talk to the SunCommon folks about solar energy and they are not doing any presentations.
The only "presentation" you may want to see (or maybe not) is a re-run of the my solar eclipse video I showed last fall at one of the astronomy club's meetings. For the die-hard astronomers I will also have short videos of the 2004 & 2012 Venus transits and the 20016 Mercury transit of the Sun.
