The Trust for Wildlife is an all-volunteer organization and Marshall's key role is volunteer naturalist in residence at Mount Anthony Union Middle School where he has established an interpretive nature trail that is used by faculty and students. The Trust for Wildlife's newest major project covers an area of approximately 52,000 acres in southwestern Vermont and works with Green Mountain National Forest biologists and The Grouse Society to create habitat for species of concern with a strong focus on neotropical migratory birds. National Geographic has designated 2018 as "Year of the Birds," making it a good time to focus on neotropical migratory birds and a focus on birds which go through our area and Green Mountain National Forest.
