"From Home Para Casa": Presentation at Joslin Library

Past event
May 31, 2018, 7 PM

This Thursday at Joslin Memorial Library, join guest presenters Christiane Kokubo and Nate Shepard as they share stories, images, videos, and adventures from their travels through 18 countries. "From Home Para Casa" documents the epic odyssey from Nate's home in Starksboro, Vermont to Chris's home in São Paulo, Brazil. Their campaign to raise one dollar for each kilometer of the journey to benefit the Open Door Clinic, in Middlebury, hasn't reached 50,000 yet, but it is still open for donations!

Many of the most vivid moments come just as we are leaving. From a parking space, from a beer store, just driving past, fleeting images, conversations, snippets that portray a rich story of place, culture, and reality. Many of the best pieces come right after you shut off the camera or stop recording, like the most intensely memorable dreams come right before you wake up.

Nate teaches Spanish at Mount Abe Union High School. Chris is the communications specialist at the Open Door Clinic and a freelance journalist. Visit their adventures at: http://www.fromhomeparacasa.com/
