Ian Stokes leads your Community Senior Center hike this Tuesday, May 29: "VYCC to Snipe Ireland Overlook and Back". This is a moderately strenuous hike in a loop, starting from the Monitor Barn, following the VYCC trails, then looping back via a ridge with a spectacular cliff-top view of Snipe Ireland Road, Mount Mansfield and then Camel's Hump. Distance about 3 miles; elevation gain about 650 feet; probably 2-3 hours of hiking. Forecast: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75. North wind around 6 mph. Rain will cancel hike.

Bring the usual - water, good footwear, extra clothing layer, bug-repellent, snack. Optional: sunscreen, binoculars, camera. Meet at Volunteers' Green at 9:00 am, and carpool or ride a bike (2 miles each way on Route 2) to the Monitor Barn. Questions: contact Ian at istokes@gmavt.net"
