Join the Underhill Conservation Commission for a walk and invasive plant management project on Sunday, June 3rd with Ethan Tapper, Chittenden County Forester, and Elizabeth Spinney, Vermont's Invasive Pest Coordinator at the Crane Brook Conservation Area in Underhill. Come and learn about invasive plants that lurk in your woods and how to manage them. Meet at 10:00 on Sunday morning at the end of New Road, wear shoes and clothing appropriate for walking in all conditions for a couple of hours. In the morning, we will walk the trails of the CBCA and learn about the impact of invasive plants and pests on the forest environment. We will also learn about the health and history of this natural area, owned by the Town of Underhill. Around mid-day we will return to New Road for a BYO picnic lunch. In the afternoon we will work to control a patch of Japanese knotweed. Please bring work gloves and shovel to help with this part of the project. The event will wrap up no later than 2 PM.
