at Senior Center... Come see a tantalizing excerpt from MSAC member Margot Lasher's award-winning play "Intake," right after Feast Together on Friday, Feb. 7, 12:45-1:30 in the Community Room. The scene showing will be followed by a brief, behind-the-scenes conversation with the playwright, cast and crew.

Directed by Joanne Greenberg and produced by Liz Snell, the world premiere of the full play will then be presented by Lost Nation at their Winterfest Festival on February 13-16.

"Intake" focuses on the interaction between 82-year-old Hannah and Dr. Grey, the inexperienced psychiatrist evaluating her for possible dementia. As their interaction progresses, the doctor is forced to reassess her snap judgments about Hannah and about the aging process in general, as she realizes her patient's ideas about aging are original, tinged with wise humor, and even profound.

In 2012, playwright Margot Lasher's one-act version of "Intake" won the Vermont Actors Repertory Nor’Eastern Playwrights Contest, an annual competition of plays from six states in the region. The new full-length version was just chosen as the winner of the Vermont Playwrights Award for 2013.

"Intake" will star Emme Erdossy as Hannah and Alison Goyette as Dr. Grey. Performances will be held at 7:30pm on Feb. 13-15 and 2:00pm on Feb. 16 at Lost Nation's wheelchair-accessible theater upstairs in City Hall Arts Center. For Lost Nation ticket information, please call the box office at 802-229-0492.
