Join the City of Winooski in celebration of National Public Works Week!

Monday, May 21st, 2018 – Saturday, May 26th, 2018

Through our partnership with the New England chapter of the American Public Works Association, the City of Winooski is proud to present National Public Works Week – promoting the important role municipal infrastructure has on community health and quality of life thanks to the dedicated service of our Public Works employees.

This year, DPW's (Department of Public Works) all over New England will celebrate by giving back to the community. Winooski's DPW has joined this effort by hosting "Fill-a-Public-Works-Truck" – a coordinated food drive in partnership with the Winooski Food Shelf. Fill-a-Public-Works-Truck is designed to collect food and household provisions for community members while raising awareness of Winooski's DPW Operations.

A Winooski Public Works truck will be parked outside the Winooski Food Shelf on 24 West Allen Street (Winooski United Methodist Church) to collect non-perishable food items and household provisions. Donations can be dropped off inside the truck from 8 AM – 5 PM, Monday, May 21st, 2018 until Saturday, May 26th, 2018. The truck will feature a National Public Works Week banner and is easily located in the front parking lot of the Winooski Food Shelf. Donations will be picked up daily by event coordinators and stored at the Winooski Food Shelf.

We provide supplemental food to lots of working families, new Americans, the elderly, and many others. We thank the Winooski Public Works Department for taking the time to celebrate National Public Works week by giving back to our community."
