Past event
May 20, 2018, 3 to 5 PM

Rokeby Museum opens for the 2018 season with a special lecture program for Vermont history aficionados. Susan Ouellette, Professor of History and American Studies at St. Michael's College, will speak about Phebe Orvis, a 19th century resident of Addison County, VT, and St. Lawrence County, NY, and the journal she kept from 1820-1830. Phebe's journal contains fascinating details about everyday life, as well as insights into how a young woman navigated through the changing social and economic climate in which she lived. Copies of Ouellette's book about the Phebe Orvis, An Extraordinary Ordinary Woman, will be available for sale.
