Past event
May 17, 2018, 6 to 7:30 PM

Transition Town Montpelier Presents Jess Rubin, naturalist, mycological researcher, and educator discussing exotic earthworms. Recently a pattern has emerged of how European and Asian earthworm species are mal-affecting perennial systems. In this presentation, data will be shared highlighting changes in forest soil structure, plant understory diversity, and tree regeneration with serious implications for disrupting carbon and nitrogen cycles, water storage, and nutrient exchange networks in place since the last glaciation.

At the Kellogg-Hubbard Library at 135 Main St in Montpelier.
