Summer is upon us! There will be an Independence Day (4th of July) parade in Castleton. Details are forthcoming, but here is your official notice. The staging area is being worked out, but the plan is to start on the east end of the village near the Park & Ride. The procession would then move west along Route 4A (Main Street) and exit Main Street vicinity of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. The line-up is scheduled for 9:30AM. There will be some festivities later in the afternoon and evening, including a DJ to play music, either at Crystal Beach or the Lake Bomoseen Lodge. The "Boat Parade" is also scheduled to move around Lake Bomoseen. The evening will end with fireworks vicinity Crystal Beach.

There is some interest in having a dunk tank set up to "Dunk a Cop, Fireman, and Select Board member" so sound off if you would like to see that happen!!
