May 20, 2018, 3 to 5 PM

The Pawlet Public Library hosts Vermont Humanities Council speaker Rebecca Rupp, who will present the surprising history of common garden vegetables, "Wolf Peaches, Poisoned Peas, and Madame Pompadour's Underwear." Rupp, a scientist turned writer, is the author of nearly 20 books for both children and adults, and a blogger on food science and history for National Geographic. The program is free. Following her talk, refreshments will be served, and attendees are encouraged to swap vegetable seeds just in time for planting.
