The St. Johnsbury Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, in partnership with the St. Johnsbury Recreation Department, welcomes the public to a brainstorming session to explore the public interest in the creation of a new skateboard park in St. Johnsbury. This spring the site of the former St. Johnsbury park was sold and the skateboard park was removed for additional parking for the building's tenants. Our committee believes that the town needs a new skateboard park, but recognizes this won't be possible without a suitable location, a well thought out plan, and broad-based support. We want to gather public input to help guide the process of researching and exploring suitable sites as well as forming a subcommittee to help with park design and fundraising. All are welcome! The meeting will be Tuesday, May 22 from 6-7:30 PM.
