Transition Town Charlotte and our Hinesburg friends will be hosting our second Repair Cafe from 10:00 to 4:00 on Sat May 19 at the Hinesburg Town Hall. Neighboring towns also welcome. A Repair Café is a community gathering where we come together to fix each others stuff.
We have fixers willing to tackle the following items:
-Small electric appliances, lamps, electrical gadgets
-Wooden furniture
-Toys- wood, metal and plastic
-Tools- home, shop and garden,(sharpening, troubleshooting, handle and cord replacement)
-attaching Watch Bands, replacing Watch Batteries, Cuckoo and other clocks
-clothing, knitted items, sewing machine adjustments
-textile conservation and repair (vintage clothes, dolls, cross-stitches, quilts, lace)
-jewelry repairs and mods
-tutorials on smart phone usage.
-small gas engine tuneups and tutorials!

Their is no charge for repairs but we do ask participants to make a non-perishable food or monetary donation on repair day to the Hinesburg Food Shelf. Coffee/tea and snacks will be available by donation and a lunch can be purchased. The event is being sponsored by Transition Town Charlotte, the Charlotte Community Library, and Charlotte Grange.
