Are you a family caregiver for a friend or loved one? Are you finding that your caregiving demands are increasing? Do you want to learn how to be a more effective and efficient caregiver? Well, the Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging is currently accepting registrations for the upcoming "Powerful Tools for Caregivers" course. The six-week course, which is free and open to family caregivers in the community, is designed to give participants the tools to be a more effective caregiver while also ensuring they are taking care of themselves. Powerful Tools for Caregiver (PTC) is a National Evidence-based program that covers a range of key caregiving topics, including the use of community services and resources one might not know about; boosting your confidence in coping with caregiving demands; managing emotions as to avoid issues with guilt, anger and depression; and ensuring self-care behaviors such as exercise, medical care and the use of relaxation techniques, just to name a few.

Note: All classes run form 2:30 - 4:00 pm. Each class if focused on a different subject/aspect of caregiving. This is a FREE evidence-based educational series and it also comes with the critically-acclaimed book: The Caregiver Helpbook.
