Winter Carnival is February 15th. Vintage snowshoes and ice skates will be on display at Johnson's Winter Carnival on February 15th at the Elementary School. The Historical Society will have a display of old-time winter recreation equipment at the Gym from 10 AM to 2 PM. Bear Paw, Snowcraft, and Penobscot Special snowshoes were state of the art in their day. Do you remember using double runners or single blade clamp-on ice skates? There will be some "dated" skis as well. Anyone with vintage equipment is invited to show-it-off at Winter Carnival. For more information contact Lois Frey, 635-7826.
The Historical Society will also serve their homemade soups, venison stew, corn chowder, chili and hotdogs from 11 AM to 1 PM. Come for lunch and enjoy the exhibit.
