The Charlotte Senior Center will be hosting a demonstration/performance of shape-note singing on Sat., May 12 at 1:30. Begun in colonial New England, the a cappella four-part harmony of shape-note singing has haunting melodies, often with dark poetry from early hymnals. There will be an opportunity to learn a couple of songs and sing along. No registration or fee. Light refreshments. Sponsored by the Friends of the Charlotte Senior Center.
