This Saturday the Mad River Resource Management Alliance's Spring Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be held from 9 am to 2 pm at the Harwood Union High School. So if you are a resident or small business from Fayston, Moretown, Roxury, Waitsfield, Warren or Waterbury you can bring all your architectural house paints both oil and latex; all your pesticides; all your primary batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 9 volt), all your compact fluorescent lamps and ten additional gallons or pounds of stuff like used motor oil, old gasoline, solvents, pool cleaners at no charge. If you have any additional materials there is a $4.00 per unit fee. If you have any intact mercury thermostats we'll give you a card that you can mail in for a $5.00 rebate for these instruments. We will take your mercury fever thermometers and give you a digital thermometer in trade, one per family. We can't take any compressed gases, medical waste, explosives, fire extinguishers or radioactive waste. There will be a paint drop and swap area where you can find cans of paint and related materials to take back for your special projects. Got questions call John Malter at 244-7373.
