Cabot Contra Dance to Host Quebecois Social Dances

Past event
May 12, 2018, 7:30 PM

The Cabot Old Time Family Contra and Square Dance will host a special May dance, Saturday, May 12, 2018, 7:30 pm at Willey Hall in downtown Cabot. There will be two callers for the evening. Karen Muller-Harder will call for most of the evening and Luc Laroche all the way from France will call sets of Quebecois social dances. Luc is a long time caller originally from Quebec. Live music will be provided by David Carpenter and the Hull's Union Victory String Band.

The contra and square dances are traditional Vermont and New England social dances that have been danced for many generations in the town halls, barns and kitchens around Vermont. Musicians are always invited to sit in and join with the fun of playing traditional dance tunes.

The Cabot Old Time Family Contra and Square Dance is held on the second Saturday of the month September to May. The dance series is sponsored by the Cabot Library. For more information contact David Carpenter 802-426-3225 or email samlyman@fairpoint.net.
