Hi folks,
I just wanted to remind everyone that the DRB will meet this Tuesday, February 4 at 5pm at City Hall Auditorium to review the revised plans for Ireland's proposed Grove Street development. Here is a link to the DRB website with staff comments and revised project plans: http://bit.ly/1dXdsIi.
I haven't had a chance to review all the staff comments yet, but know that they now recommend approval of the revised project. One thing that did strike me is that the construction will be phased over 7 years and work hours are Monday - Saturday, 7am - 5:30pm. This may be OK for the lower part of the site, where the concrete factory is located and which is isolated from our neighborhood. But for the area closer to the neighborhood, that is just totally unacceptable. The prospect of living next to a major construction site for 7 years with hours starting at 7am 6 days a week would make life in our neighborhood pretty intolerable.
Hope you can make it on Tuesday, and hope more neighbors will feel moved to speak out!
Best,
Erhard Mahnke
