Bicycle "Ride of Silence" Coming Up on May 16th

Past event
May 16, 2018, 5:30 to 7 PM

Please put it on your calendars--we will be repeating the annual memorial "Ride of Silence", which has taken place in Northfield for about 5 years. This local edition of this international event will honor and remember people who have lost their lives in road accidents, as pedestrians and bicyclists, and help raise awareness of sharing the roads with all of us who use them.

We'll meet at the former home of Bicycle Express on Depot Square at 5:30 PM, and we'll ride south on Rt. 12 to 12A, and then south to the cemetery just north of Roxbury. As always, we'll be riding silently, at a moderate pace. We'll pause at the peaceful place, and share our thoughts about those we know who have been part of the statistics--all individuals with families and friends. Then we'll return--it's about 6 miles each way.
