MMU School Board Meeting in Richmond

Past event
May 7, 2018

Our next school board meeting is Monday May 7th, 6:30 PM at Camels Hump Middle School. We will begin by hearing from our MMU student representatives and any community comments, receive a brief update on Act 46, and confirm or change our consent agenda procedure. Most of the meeting will be dedicated to small group Policy Governance work and discussion of the capacity study. After recognizing the significant drop in our student population, we asked the Superintendent to study and make a recommendation on the use and capacity of our elementary schools in the "north" (Underhill and Jericho). On Monday we will consider the report and if we want to further explore the recommendation.

On May 21st the board will meet at 6:30 PM at the Jericho Elementary School. We will begin this meeting with the Golden Apple Awards, where we recognize members of the school community who have provided extraordinary time and/or expertise for the benefit of students

The Mount Mansfield Modified Union School Board and Chittenden East Supervisory Union Governing Board conventionally have joint meetings, generally the first and/or third Mondays of each month. We use a Policy Governance framework to enable the Superintendent to manage the district and allow the board to focus on goals and community engagement. MMMUSD includes Mount Mansfield Union High, Browns River Middle, Camel's Hump Middle, Jericho Elementary, Richmond Elementary, Smilie Memorial (Bolton), Underhill Central, and Underhill I.D. schools. CESU includes Special Education, Transportation, and Central Office for both MMMUSD and the Huntington elementary school. The Brewster Pierce Memorial School Board (Huntington) meets separately.
