The Songbirds Are Coming

Past event
May 10, 2018, 7 to 9:30 AM

This is the time of year when the song birds are arriving in the Northeast Kingdom! If you would like to participate in a birding walk, please meet at the picnic area at the Henry Darling Recreation Area on Route 114 north of East Burke village on May 10th at 7:00 AM. (Yes, this is a morning activity). Accomplished birder and Burke Conservation Commission member, Kevin Mack will be leading the walk. It should really be fun.

In a prior life, Kevin co-authored the Atlas of the Breeding Birds of Nevada and published several articles on birds and birding in national publications. He has guided birding trips locally and in the Western US. Kevin is a member of the Board of Directors of Audubon Vermont and is the General Manager of Burke Mountain Resort.

Kevin will be bringing a spotting scope and binoculars, but participants are urged to bring their own binoculars if they have them and to be prepared for about two hours of easy hiking and standing.

This event is sponsored by the Burke Conservation Commission. The rain date is May 17th.
