Pansy Festival at Singing River Farm

Past event
May 5, 2018, 12 to 3 PM

Come celebrate Spring with colorful field-grown pansies at the 4th Annual Pansy Festival. It takes place Saturday, May 5, from noon to 3:00 p.m., at Singing River Farm in Rockingham on the Brockways Mills Road (just 1/10 of a mile north off route 103.) Along with hundreds of pansies for sale, the festival will include free face painting, New Games, parachute games, crafts and more.

Singing River Farm is celebrating Cinco de Mayo in support of the Community Asylum Seekers Project (CASP) and an asylum-seeking family from Mexico currently being hosted at the farm. Information about the work of CASP and a chance to talk with members of the family will take place during the festival.

Well known local artist Debbi Wetzel of Saxtons River has donated a beautiful framed original painting of a New England window box filled with pansies to be raffled as a fundraiser for CASP this year. The painting will be unveiled to the public for the first time at 2:30 that afternoon. Raffle tickets will be available from CASP board members present at the festival. The winning ticket will be drawn in the fall. More information is available at www.caspvt.org.

The farm's neighbor María Valadez will once again be selling burritos, either meat or vegetarian, with many toppings on the side. Lemonade will be offered for sale at the Singing River Farm Stand.

Farmers Laurel Green and Steve Crofter welcome everyone to this free community event! For more information, call the farm at 802-275-4646. Follow Singing River Farm on Facebook.
