Despite the recent snow, it is indeed almost May!
Our May LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS meeting will be this coming SUNDAY, MAY 6th from 3:30 to 5:00 P.M. at the UNITED COMMUNITY CHURCH NORTH in ST. JOHNSBURY.
Betty Keller will lead the meeting. It will be a good chance for all to discover how/when we can apply our energy to projects in the coming months (like voter registration in local high schools/colleges in the fall; tabling at Dog Mountain's summer concert series; programs at the Athenaeum; tabling at the Stars and Stripes Festival in Lyndonville in July, etc.) hear about the status of current projects as well as past and future LWV gatherings:There will be a report on the LWV New England Leadership Conference which happened earlier this month. And Betty will discuss the themes of the upcoming national LWV Convention happening in Chicago in June.
Hope to see you at the meeting!
* While the League's legislative priorities change to reflect the needs of society, our organization remains true to its basic purpose: to make democracy work for all citizens.
It is a nonpartisan political organization that has fought since 1920 to improve our government and impact public policy through citizen education and advocacy.
