Hello Neighbors:

The monthly Ward6 NPA meeting will take place this coming Thursday, May3 from 7pm to 9pm at the Greek Orthodox Church, 600 South Willard Street, on the corner of South Willard and Ledge Road at the rotary. Parking is available in the church lot, entrance off of Ledge Road. Additional parking can be found along Willard Street, as well as in front of Christ the King on Locust Street. As always, snacks and drinks will be available!

One highlight this month is the annual election of ward6 npa committee members. Ward6 bylaws specify five members elected annually, and there is interest from a few more than that (nice!), so please plan to come and participate. The overall agenda is as follows:

7:15 Election of Steering Committee Members

7:30 BSD Capital Plan Improvements with Marty Spaulding (BSD Director of Property Services and Russ Elek (BSD Communication Specialist) to gather community input and address any questions or concerns on capital improvements at Edmunds and Champlain Schools.

7:50 planBTV update with Ava Schwemler (Intern) and Meagan Tuttle (City Planner), and a Planning Commissioner (TBD) to provide information and gather feedback on the 2019 planBTV update which will be implemented March 31, 2019, and will serve as the main guide for city development until 2024.

8:10 Parks & Recreation Department update with Nina Safavi (Comprehensive Planner) to provide status on department projects and an update on city trees as they relate to the emerald ash borer now present in Vermont.

8:25 School Board update with Commissioners Clare Wool and Jeff Wick.
8:35 Champlain College update with Sandy Yusen.
8:45 UVM update with Lisa Kingsbury.
