Join me for the first Japanese tea ceremony of the season. Setting Sun Teahut is modeled after a traditional Japanese Chashitsu (tea hut) The tea ceremony, Chanoyu, has been honed for centuries in Japan. My love for this aspect of my tea practice even led me to build my own teahut to further my study. My Ceremonies are fairly casual as I understand that many visitors are not familiar with this practice so we can ease into it. While my way of tea is a bit more informal than a full Japanese Tea Ceremony, I honor the parts of the tradition than speak most to me and work best within my space at Setting Sun.
Please arrive promptly at 1pm as we will meet at the edge of the garden to discuss a bit of the guest procedure and protocol.
There will be a Japanese style sweet served with the tea.
$10 per person. Please RSVP as space for guests will be limited.
Setting Sun Teahut is located at 3606 East Hill Road, just down from Nicko's Tree Farm. I hope to see you there!
