Burlington 2030 District Launch Event

Past event
May 1, 2018, 5 to 7 PM

The Burlington Electric Department, a member of the newly-formed Burlington 2030 District, a private/public partnership that supports ongoing local efforts to mitigate climate change, is excited to invite our community to join us in celebrating the launch of the Burlington 2030 District. This initiative will help the City of Burlington move closer to its sustainability goal of becoming a net zero energy city.

The launch event will be held this coming Tuesday, May 1 from 5-7pm at Union Station, 1 Main Street, Burlington and will celebrate the Burlington 2030 District's establishment, goals, and successes thus far. The event will provide a venue for prospective members to learn how voluntary participation in this initiative helps property owners increase asset value, reduce operating costs, and create a healthier community.

Local leaders and property owners from the Burlington 2030 District, who are committed to reducing building energy consumption, water use, and transportation emissions 50% by the year 2030, will be available to talk about their successes. Leading Burlington businesses and institutions have committed over 6 million square feet to participate in the Burlington 2030 District. Event speakers will include Mayor Miro Weinberger, Burlington 2030 District Director Jenna Antonino DiMare, and property owner/Burlington District 2030 member Jeff Nick.

All are welcome! Free appetizers, ice cream, and a cash bar. To learn more about the launch event and to RSVP, please visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/burlington-2030-district-launch-event-tickets-44757031486.
